In a shock to most, James Bouknight took a bit of a slide down the draft and was selected 11th by the Charlotte Hornets. In a draft with such a large talent pool Bouknight wasn’t necessarily a steal in comparison to some of the other players who slid but teams picking from 6-10 will probably reevaluate their selection in a few short years.

External Factors: Bouknight made the jump from the AAC to the Big East this past season and continued to elevate his play. Showing that he can play at a more competitive level of college basketball should bring confidence to organizations that he can seamlessly transition to the NBA.
Medical History: During the season Bouknight injured his elbow and was sidelined for an extended period of time. After he was cleared by his surgeon to resume basketball activity he played exceptionally well to close the season. It was his non-shooting arm and did not seem to linger after his return.
